Toshiba Launches New 3-in-1 Printer Enabling Flexible, Sustainable Printing at the Point of Use

This new compact printer supports the shift toward linerless, multi-application environments

Businesses across retail, hospitality, logistics and manufacturing are increasingly rethinking how labels and receipts are produced at the point of use. Limited space, changing workflows and rising sustainability expectations are driving demand for more flexible and consolidated printing solutions.

With the launch of the TRST-L1N, Toshiba introduces a compact 3-in-1 printing platform that enables linerless labels, traditional labels and POS receipts to be produced from a single device. The TRST-L1N is designed to help organisations simplify operations while adapting to evolving market and regulatory requirements.

The flexibility to meet multi-operational requirements

Printing tasks at store counters, kitchens, packing stations and production areas are becoming more dynamic. By consolidating multiple printing requirements into one compact platform, the TRST-L1N supports these environments with greater flexibility and reduced complexity. This allows businesses to deploy printing exactly where it is needed, without relying on multiple dedicated devices.

Linerless printing as part of everyday sustainability

Sustainability has become a concrete operational requirement rather than a longterm objective. In this context, linerless printing is gaining momentum as an effective way to reduce material usage and waste at the source.

Together, Toshiba’s linerless media and the TRST‑L1N form a complete linerless solution that removes backing paper entirely, cutting waste handling and improving workplace safety and environment. Variable print lengths further support efficient material usage, aligning environmental goals with cost efficiency.

Creating new value for business partners

Linerless printing is rapidly moving from a niche application to a mainstream requirement, particularly in retail, hospitality and logistics. As customers increasingly demand sustainable and flexible labelling concepts, the market for linerless solutions continues to grow.

For business partners, this development represents a clear opportunity to expand their solution portfolios. With the TRST-L1N, partners can address a wide range of applications and engage customers in broader discussions around process optimisation as well as sustainability.

In addition, linerless solutions open the door to longterm customer relationships, including consulting, media supply and the gradual transition of existing installations toward more sustainable labelling approaches.

A compact answer to evolving printing demands

“With the TRST-L1N, we are responding to a clear shift toward more flexible, sustainable and space-efficient printing at the point of use,” said Akira Ito, European Product Marketing Manager at Toshiba Tec. “At the same time, the TRST-L1N enables our business partners to actively participate in the rapidly growing linerless market.”
